ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER
Required as soon as possible
Salary Range – L3-L7
The governors of St Patrick’s Catholic Voluntary Academy wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher to work in our school.
Our school is based in the North of Sheffield and is currently a Catholic Single Academy Trust, though we have resolved to join St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Trust at the earliest opportunity.
In October 2024, the school underwent an OFSTED inspection and unfortunately was graded as Inadequate. We are looking for an outstanding primary teacher to assist the Executive Headteacher in securing improvement in order to provide a successful future for all our children and families.
This is a unique opportunity to experience and be part of a rapid school improvement journey. You will be given the opportunity to develop a range of leadership skills, working alongside the Executive Headteacher and with the support of St Clare’s Trust who are working closely with our school.
This is an exciting and challenging role that requires a passionate, enthusiastic and aspiring leader to be a key part in designing and implementing changes that will enable all of our children to be engaged in their learning and achieve their full potential.
The governing body, the Diocese and the Directors of St Clare Multi Academy Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons, and the Assistant Headteacher should support the Executive Headteacher in ensuring that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people. The post is subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The post holder will:
* Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
* Be resilient, pro-active and able to motivate others
* Demonstrate an inspirational passion for teaching
* Support the Executive Headteacher with the vision and drive of raising standards across the school
* Have high expectations of pupil’s achievement
* Lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice of the school staff
* Be flexible, innovative, imaginative and creative
* Be well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Have experience of data management and analysis
* Will relish developing and leading a high performing team
We can offer you:
* The opportunity to work in partnership with the Executive Headteacher to drive standards and achievements across school
* Children who are polite and eager to learn
* A warm and welcoming community
* Opportunities to develop skills within a supportive environment
* A commitment to you and your continued professional development
* A strong, supportive, friendly staff team working in partnership with the Catholic Multi-Academy Trust team
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged; our Executive Headteacher is looking forward to meeting you. If you have any questions, or wish to make an appointment to visit the school and discuss the post further, please contact the Executive Headteacher, Mrs Karen Dobson by email exechead@st-patricks.sheffield.sch.uk or by calling the school office.
Application packs are available upon request; the CES application form must be completed. Forms are available to download from the school website www.st-patricks.sheffield.sch.uk and should be returned to Mrs Karen Dobson, Executive Headteacher.
NOTE: References will be requested for all candidates invited to interview.
The school rigorously follows safeguarding procedures for recruitment. The offer of a post will be conditional upon a successful enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), satisfactory references and other pre-employment checks. Shortlisted candidates will also be subject to online searches as part of due diligence checks as per the latest KCSiE guidance. The successful applicant will be employed on a Catholic Education Service (CES) contract of employment.
