Division Description: Insight’s Distribution Division has five main functions: Business Development: Engages with institutional prospects including pension funds, local authorities, corporates, insurance, and sovereign wealth funds and ensures prospects are aware of Insight’s full range of capabilities. The team is based across the UK, Europe, US, Australia, and APAC region, and includes specialists focused on particular client segments such as insurance and local authorities. Consultant Relations: Based in the UK and US, the team focuses on building and managing relationships with global and regional investment consultants and updates them on new investment ideas as pension schemes continue to seek strategies to manage their evolving liability and liquidity needs. Marketing: The Marketing Team, based in London, New York, and Pune, collaborate with business areas in two key areas: Communications: These teams deliver information to client, consultant, and prospect audiences through digital marketing (website, intranet, social, email), investment content (literature, white papers, investment commentary and awards submissions), event management, media relations and internal communications. Institutional pipeline management: These teams cover the provision of RFP responses, the production of presentations and the supply of investment data for marketing output and organises data supply to consultant databases. Product Development: This team works collaboratively across the business to identify and deliver new products using Insight’s product development process and manages updates to Insight’s existing product range. Business Planning: The team coordinates sales plans and all internal reporting on behalf of Distribution. It is the business owner for our CRM application, Salesforce, coordinates the business acceptance process and ensures commercial arrangements with Distributors including BNYM are operating effectively. The team also delivers market intelligence and competitor research to help generate new ideas to capitalise on emerging investment trends. Position Description: Role Overview We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive organic business growth in the Nordics region by executing against agreed sales plans with energy and discipline. Role Responsibilities Take overall responsibility for business development for the Nordics region. Build new relationships and develop existing ones with appropriate prospective clients with the goal of delivering financial solutions to clients and new clients and revenue to the firm. Execute the sales priorities and activities for the region including direct prospecting, conference attendance, roadshows, and campaigns. Manage the sales pipeline effectively including qualifying in, progressing, and closing opportunities with discipline and rigour. Play an active role in product and capability development for the region by articulating long term trends and product gaps to the investment teams. Experience Required Deep knowledge of the Nordics Institutional market, key dynamics, growth areas and macro trends. Strong track record in a similar, sales related role. Excellent communication skills; highly articulate and able to tailor style as appropriate. Ability to access key decision makers at relevant asset owners, by providing valuable insights to them. Well-developed sales skills which seamlessly combine knowledge of the markets, knowledge of the clients’ ecosystem and the ability to create demand to deliver value to clients and value to the firm.
