Support Worker / Care Assistant who is kind, compassionate and resilient with a natural passion for caring and good communication skills is required for a leading social care charity based in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, North West England.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED
2 Positions Available – 16 hours per week or 24 hours per week
HOURLY RATE: £11.50 per hour + Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Prestwich, Greater Manchester, North West England (M25)
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent
24 hours per week
Week 1: Weekend 2 x 6 hr shifts 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm; Weekday 2 x 6 hr shifts of 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm
Week 2: Weekday 4 x 6 hr shifts 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm
16 hours per week:
Saturday 6 hours; Sunday 6 hours; Weekday 6 hours 2pm – 8pm (any weekday)

Working as a Support Worker / Care Assistant you will be part of a team providing care and support services to elderly tenants, who may have a range of health and social care needs, enabling them to carry on living independently in their own flats.
As a Support Worker / Care Assistant no day is the same, but every day brings the satisfaction of making a difference to someone’s life. Your duties will vary a lot from person to person.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Support Worker / Care Assistant will include:
* Providing support for the people with tenancies in line with their individual, person centred care and support plans.
* Supporting tenants in maintaining their emotional, physical, religious, cultural and psychological wellbeing.
* Upholding and promoting the rights, dignity, respect and choice of the people we support.
* Giving support to tenants when required completing household tasks, including tidying, laundry, shopping and managing health appointments.
* Actively participating in and enabling the people we support to carry out their activities according to their personalised support plans.
* Ensuring effective relationships are developed and maintained with relevant services and professionals, including health services.
* Maintaining records consistent with legal requirements of the service.
* Acting in accordance with Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality and other policies.
* Attending and contributing to team meetings, supervisions and appraisals.
* Being open to working flexible hours over a week and weekend.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Must be kind, caring, patient and good with people.
* Willingness to learn and maintain training.
* Good communication skills.
* Good IT skills.
* QCF level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
* Medication trained.
* Take pride in your work and have a friendly, positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude.
* An ability to work as part of a team, attending team meetings and supporting colleagues across the organisation.
