Job Description:
Choice Care are looking for more and more local people, as we expand and grow, to work in the local area. You must have experience in adult social care, be able to drive with your own car, and live with easy access to Blackburn & Darwen.
All our clients are vulnerable and need to see the same faces, not a different face each day, so you have to be reliable and committed to regular scheduled work. We think that there are lots of people that would like to care but just need the right set of circumstances and training and the right kind of company to support their work-life balance.
Your written and spoken English must be excellent as you will make daily care records, administer medication, and need to fully understand care plans and risk assessments.
You need to be a driver with a car and available to work alternate weekends as well as during the week.
At Choice Care, we provide the best possible care, support, and complex care for those that need it - including people coming to the end of life, those with dementia, sensory impairment, or physical difficulties, spinal and head injuries – enabling our clients to live in their own homes with dignity and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
We are a Preferred Provider for Blackburn and Lancashire Social Services and also provide care for the NHS/CCG as well as private clients. We are a family business and have been providing care in the area for over 25 years.
With a starting hourly rate of £12* per hour, your training will be completed in our training room.
Once you complete your probationary period you start your Level 2 or 3 NVQ qualification and when you achieve that your pay goes up to £12.50*.
We look forward to meeting you at interview.
We do not offer sponsorships but welcome applicants from the whole community.

About The Company
Choice Care was founded in 1999 by husband and wife, Andrew and Fiona Key. With more than 25 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, Andrew and Fiona combined their background in nursing with a passion for delivering high-quality home care services in Lancashire along the M65 corridor, that bridge the gap between traditional home care and nursing.
Whether it’s working directly with private clients and their families or in partnership with social services, Clinical Commissioning Groups, solicitors, and health professionals, we strive to provide the best possible care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, tailoring our care services to meet their needs.
We work closely with organisations such as East Lancashire Hospice, the Stroke Association, Dementia UK, Parkinson’s UK, and the MS Society to share resources and make sure our staff are up to date on the latest skills and training. Our team of dedicated carers are all vetted and trained to gain the qualifications they need to help them carve out a long-term career in care.
Company Culture
We provide induction training and carers must reach the required level of knowledge in each subject area.
They must also complete a number of shifts with a supervisor to make sure they’re competent at following care plans and delivering the required level of care.
New recruits will also be working on achieving their diploma/NVQ qualification in care, which takes between 6 and 9 months to complete.
Join Our Team of Award-Winning Colleagues
If you’re passionate about making life better for society’s most vulnerable people, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from people with a drive to learn and progress in the care industry.
We believe that being a carer is not just a job, it’s a vocation. As a family-run business, we’re looking to grow the team with like-minded people who share our values.
We love nothing more than seeing the enthusiasm and dedication of a carer turn into a satisfying, lifelong career, whether they’ve come from a background in care or start out with no hands-on experience but an open heart and mind.
