At JoJo we’re on the lookout for a Garment Technologist or, as we say internally, Junior Garment Technologist!
You will be responsible for your own product area, developing product that meets JoJo Maman Bébé’s high quality and safety standards whilst managing relationships with suppliers and leading effective communication.
A peek into your daily adventures
* Manage the sealing process from prototype to shipment approval.
* Prepare specification packs, fit samples and ensure the critical path is maintained.
* Maintain clear communication with suppliers during the sealing and approval process.
* Develop blocks and key shapes.
* Measure, fit and comment on fit samples and collaborate with buying and design to achieve an excellent fit.
* Ensure existing fabric quality is consistent across all suppliers, utilising and updating our fabric library.
* Safeguard all items so they adhere to British Safety Standards, international compliance & labelling requirements.
* Efficient ownership of relevant targets on the critical path.
* Troubleshoot and liaise with the Technical Manager to ensure resolution on quality or production concerns.
* Support senior team members in carrying out annual supplier visits, in person or remotely.
* Support CS team on customer queries and complaints.
* Regularly update the Technical Manager and highlight potential product risks.
* Actively engage with our ethical or environmental team.
Skills that make you shine:
* 3+ years experience working in entry-level Garment Tech positions with baby and childrenswear (required).
* Good understanding of pattern/garment construction and a core understanding of different fabrics, material types and trims, and testing procedures.
* Experience of working directly with international factories.
* Support factory audits and analysing audit reports.
* Efficiently multi-task, be highly organised and work happily in a busy, whilst friendly, atmosphere.
* Understanding of high-quality brand standards balanced with commercial needs.
* A solution-oriented approach with the ability to work with others to efficiently find the best outcome.
* Great communication skills and the ability to liaise with all departments within JoJo and our supply base.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Packages.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
