Role Overview:
Responsible for managing PR and Outreach across JD Outdoor, working alongside PR agencies and with internal teams, brands, and partners to deliver common goals that will enable us to effectively reach target markets, capture new consumers, grow brand awareness, and gain market share for the business.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
* Managing the creation and outreach of press releases to protect, enhance and build a positive reputation across JD Outdoor through the media and self-produced communications.
* Answering all inbound press related queries to maximise opportunities for coverage and help manage the JD Outdoor reputation.
* Delivering outreach campaigns across JD Outdoor that will appeal to a multitude of press, targeting quality domains, publications and media that will reach the largest and most engaged audiences.
* Securing organic and occasionally paid coverage for activity including new store openings, key product launches, gift guides and discounts at key periods.
* Responding to the news agenda by creating relevant content for which JD Outdoor can be an authority, securing reactive coverage in addition to campaign work and ensuring regular press hits.
* Working with high authority bloggers who have relevant audiences to gain valuable exposure for the JD Outdoor brands and products, whilst building high quality links and referral traffic to focus areas of the websites.
* Working with brands to develop mutually beneficial outreach campaigns that enable us to communicate key brand activity as and when collaborative opportunities arise.
* Liaising with internal teams including content, social, digital and offline marketing to enable cohesive campaigns that deliver common goals and effectively reach target markets.
* Managing the digital PR agency and budget appropriately to achieve the best possible coverage results for the investments made.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge needed :
* Experience of at least one year in PR and outreach.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with problem-solving acumen.
* Expertise in SEO.
* Strong attention to detail with time-management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with ease.
* Ability to be creative and use initiative to develop new ideas.
* Foresight to anticipate issues, balance competing agendas, set priorities and proactively develop strong relationships both internally and externally.
* Bachelor's degree in PR, outreach, or a related field.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
