Experienced Graduate Engineer (Roads) – Edinburgh Exciting Opportunity with a Leading Engineering Consultancy Are you an experienced graduate engineer looking to advance your career in roads and infrastructure design? Our client, a leading private engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their Edinburgh office. This role offers the chance to work on major infrastructure, highway, and energy schemes throughout the UK, collaborating with a highly skilled team of engineers and technicians. Key Responsibilities: Design of major infrastructure, highway, and energy schemes in both supervised and unsupervised environments. Ensuring technical content meets client requirements and industry standards. Liaising with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other designers, providing advice and guidance on project matters. Attending design and site meetings and conducting site inspections. Working within agreed project budgets and timescales. Engaging with statutory bodies, including Transport Scotland and National Highways. Qualifications & Experience: 1-3 years’ post-graduate experience in trunk road and major infrastructure design. Familiarity with the UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW). Experience using Civils3D or OpenRoads highway design software. Knowledge of 3D modelling and BIM is desirable but not essential. Proficiency in sign, line, and Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) design software. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary design team. Understanding of health and safety legislation in the construction industry. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Working towards Chartered Status (MICE, MCIHT, or equivalent). What’s on Offer?
