Learning Support Assistant (Psychology Graduate)

We are looking for a Psychology Graduate to work as a Learning Support Assistant at a small specialist school in Swindon. All the students in the school have special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and communication needs, physical disabilities and social and emotional needs. The school have a real focus on ensuring all the pupils have the right support system in place, and feel safe and happy in the school, so if you are bubbly, friendly and proactive please apply!
As a Learning Support Assistant, your day to day will involve working with a range of students, on a one-to-one basis, as well as in wider groups. You will help prepare learning materials for the students, ensure they are supported both socially and emotionally, and help to increase their independent living skills and interpersonal skills.
By working in a specialist setting, this Learning Support Assistant role will give you the essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Youth Worker or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future. Not only will you gain a first-hand insight into development and neurodiversity, you will also learn to identify the risks and needs of each child, and ensure they meet the milestones set for them. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or someone with previous experience working with children.
