Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques.
We are a busy childcare centre caring for children aged 3 months to 11 years. The hours are between 8 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday, working alternate weeks 8 until 2 then 12 until 6.
You will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and that our children enjoy nutritious meals, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
2. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
3. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
4. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
5. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role.
2. Strong knowledge of food safety practices, food allergies, and culinary techniques.
3. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
4. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
6. A genuine passion for cooking.
