2nd Line NOC Engineer
Location - Redhill, Surrey. Full time on site.
Salary: £35 - 40k with benefits such as bonus, private health, enhanced pension + more.
Working Pattern: 4 on, 4 off, 8-8 shifts (1 week on days, 1 week on nights).
This role is with a telecoms service provider that is in a continued stage of growth. They are well funded and constantly winning new contracts with both the private and public sectors.
The company has 250+ headcount and offices worldwide, supplying connectivity, communication and IT solutions to a range of organisations within the maritime, defence, and commercial sectors.
You'll be joining a team of 10 in the Redhill office, working in the NOC and reporting to the head of ops. At any given time, there will be between 6-10 other engineers on your shift, including 6 x 1st line engineers, 3 x 2nd line engineers, 2 x 3rd line engineers, and a team lead.
In this role, you'll work at 2nd line, handling escalations that the first line cannot resolve, as well as proactive monitoring of various systems. Some systems are bespoke, so we are looking for someone with a solid foundational knowledge who is willing to learn. You'll liaise with internal colleagues and external customers, making a service provider background key for this role.
Your Background:
Ideally, we seek someone from a sat comms/telecoms company, with experience in a customer-facing role. You may already be at 2nd line or have been at 1st line for a few years and are looking for the next step in your career. It is a Juniper bias environment, but we are open-minded regarding vendor background.
The office is based in Redhill, so you must live within a commutable distance.
The benefits package includes a yearly bonus, ongoing training and development, enhanced pensions, and 25 days of leave, plus a flexible working week once probation is completed.
