MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for one of the team's race cars at the event.
2. Assure effective communication with the driver, engineers, and mechanics.
3. Oversee vehicle set-up, run plan optimization, and direct interaction with the driver.
4. Organize and perform all pre-event preparation work.
5. Maintain the vehicle set-up database and determine the starting set-up.
6. Prepare a weekend timetable, test item lists, and job lists.
7. Work effectively with controls, performance, tire, and strategy engineers as well as factory-based engineers.
8. Ensure legality of the car at race events.
9. Use simulation tools before and during the event to maximize performance.
10. Perform post-event data analysis and comprehensive post-event reporting.
11. Create analysis tools and techniques to understand and develop car performance.
12. Develop, document, and apply best practices for legal, safe, and reliable car operation.
13. Organize and attend relevant rig tests providing engineering support.
14. Support and assist the team during the DEV sessions with performance analysis and writing reports.
PROFILE
1. Master’s degree in mechanical or automotive-related engineering discipline.
2. Previous race engineering experience in FE/F1/WEC – minimum of 3 years.
3. Excellent knowledge of vehicle dynamics, tires, and control systems.
4. Proficient with data analysis; previous experience of Wintax is an advantage.
5. Knowledge of analysis and simulation software; previous experience with Matlab is appreciated.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Good understanding of lap time simulation tools and Driver in the Loop environments.
8. Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
