Position Statement: Under direction from the VP Development, the candidate must work effectively with colleagues and industry contacts to assist in the execution of Hilton’s development strategy within Europe.
Position Summary:
The Development Manager establishes and enhances quality working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to compile up-to-date market intelligence for the EMEA development team. This information will be used to evaluate and identify business opportunities for further expansion of our brands.
This role will involve project-specific work with the development team to accelerate the deal-signing process and to support aggressive signings targets in the EMEA region, particularly in the North & West Europe (NOWE) region. The Development Manager will also maximize Hilton’s development exposure through various channels.
The role is responsible for ensuring the optimum usage of the deal reporting system, maintaining and updating development tools, and providing training to optimize interfaces with other relevant company systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Proactively seeks up-to-date market-derived and internal information to support commercial endeavors.
2. Contributes towards aggressive signings targets in the region.
3. Works effectively with support functions (e.g., Legal, Feasibility, Finance) to avoid bottlenecks in development projects.
4. Maintains and updates European development tools and coordinates dissemination of relevant messaging.
5. Manages Hilton’s presence at development conferences and events.
6. Leads regular meetings with the Managing Director, Development, for project reviews and updates.
7. Compiles and reviews development deal summaries for internal approval.
8. Produces accurate development dashboards and activity reports.
9. Assists the Development team and senior leadership with analyses, reports, and presentations.
10. Maintains collaboration with other Development Managers to leverage best practices.
11. Maintains functional and administrative activities within budget.
12. Proactively suggests ideas to improve department efficiency.
13. Takes on ad-hoc requests to facilitate the smooth running of the development function.
What are we looking for?
Applicants will ideally have a background in development (preferably hotel), real estate/property, asset management, feasibility, or investment. Additional skills/experience include:
1. Accuracy, attention to detail, responsiveness, and proactive behavior.
2. Excellent command of the English language.
3. High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
4. Fundamental grasp of real estate investment, finance, and hotel operations.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications:
• BA/BS/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in developing analytic skills with the ability to present complex information to senior audiences.
• Ability to travel as required for industry events and internal meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA/Master’s Degree in Hospitality, Sales, General Business, or Real Estate.
• Prior industry experience (hotel operator, feasibility, consulting, sales).
• Previous experience in Hotel Development, Real Estate, or Feasibility & Investment type roles.
• A solid understanding and passion for the hotel industry.
