SEND Learning Support Assistant
Location: East of England, Essex, Colchester

Job Description:
Job Duties:
1. Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting
2. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
3. Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
4. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
5. Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
Required Qualifications:
6. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEND
8. Knowledge of SEND legislation and best practises
Education:
9. Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
Experience:
10. Experience in supporting students with SEND in an educational setting
11. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge and Skills:
12. Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support students with SEND
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
14. Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:
15. Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
16. Additional training in specific areas of SEND support
Working Conditions:
17. Work is primarily conducted in a classroom setting
18. May involve some physical activity, such as assisting students with mobility
19. Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
