We are now seeking a talented Commercial Manager to join our Infrastructure Rail team.
What you'll do:
1. Perform commercial management or specialist commercial duties as part of a project team, operating as a commercial lead or specialist.
2. Ensure the scope, notices, terms, and conditions of the project are implemented. Lead and develop contract procedures, payments, variations, and entitlements administration to secure Skanska's interests and limit contractual risks.
3. Integrate cost plans and base data into commercial forecasting and reporting procedures. Ensure the design management plan aligns with affordability goals.
4. Lead and develop procurement strategies for contracted works, including scope quantification, tender methods, negotiation, and subcontract documentation.
5. Work collaboratively with designers, supply chain, and other stakeholders during design development to identify cost impacts and implement mitigation strategies.
6. Implement strategies to deliver the Target Cost, adhering to shared pain/gain mechanisms.
7. Lead the change management programme in line with project strategy, covering client changes, design changes, scope variations, instructions, and programme changes.
8. Develop procedures for monthly evaluation and repayment of works undertaken by the supply chain. Ensure correct administration of all supply chain agreements, including changes, notices, and contra charges. Finalise all supply chain accounts and manage retention releases per contract terms.
What you'll bring to the role:
1. Proven background at a Commercial Manager level within construction/infrastructure rail sectors.
2. Detailed working knowledge of contract/commercial law.
3. Working in a commercial capacity within senior management teams.
4. MRICS/MCInstCES qualification highly desirable; degree educated in a relevant subject.
