What the Job Involves The job involves implementing positive change in complex cases using systemic social work methods to empower independence while safeguarding against risks of abuse and neglect. You'll manage a challenging caseload with autonomy, conducting in-depth assessments, care planning, and implementing effective interventions. You will work directly with children, families, and carers to develop and review care plans, providing support in alignment with their needs and circumstances. Through multi-agency collaboration, you'll ensure children are safeguarded from significant harm, working as the lead professional in statutory child protection, care proceedings, and looked-after cases. In addition, your responsibilities will involve preparing reports for court, representing the Council, and making informed recommendations on legal actions. You’ll be expected to utilize your high-level knowledge of legislation, attend supervision sessions, participate in professional development, and contribute to the Council’s improvement journey.
