Radiographic Assistants are active members of the Diagnostic Imaging team, assisting the Radiologists and Radiographers with the provision of clinical care in a safe environment to a defined caseload of patients.
Main duties of the job
1. To ensure the maintenance of high standards of care in an environment, which promotes equality, emotional support and sensitivity for all individuals.
2. Care provided must be in adherence to departmental, local and national policies.
3. To adhere and maintain the required level of competencies within the specialised areas of the Diagnostic Imaging Department and Breast Screening.
4. Assist with maintaining a high quality of patient care, for patients requiring interventional procedures. Setting up of trolleys for complex procedures using an aseptic technique. Caring for patient's comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.
5. Ensure that relationships and own behaviour are managed in line with the Behavioural Framework competencies.
