Due to an increase in workload and continued company growth, my client, an International engineering company based near Barton Under Needwood, is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their existing Technical team on a permanent basis.
As a Quality Engineer, candidates will be required to ensure compliance of incoming and outgoing material certification to national and international standards to ensure all required documentation is in place per product for timely delivery.
Interested candidates will ideally be Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science) with a demonstrable background within a similar role and working knowledge of quality/materials documentation. Knowledge of Oil and Gas/Nuclear quality standards is advantageous.
This position is based on days and available for an immediate start.

Role Description
1. Ensuring compliance of incoming and outgoing materials by verification of certification against requested specifications.
2. Plan and manage the internal audits by preparation of an audit plan, scheduling reviews, and conducting or delegating audits to ISO 9001, 45001, 14001.
3. Produce audit reports and issue findings to management and highlight their impact on the company.
4. Maintain the internal quality document register, ensuring that the referenced procedures, processes, and forms are the latest revisions and that any changes are made in good time.
5. Collaborate with all internal departments to investigate non-conformances within the quality management system, and if required perform additional internal audits and implement preventative actions.
6. Management of the non-conformance register in relation to both internal manufacturing and materials procured from sub-contractors. Perform weekly non-conformance review meetings, ensuring NCRs are closed in a swift manner.
7. Investigate internal non-conformance reports using root cause analysis tools, with the aim of identifying trends.
8. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and third-party inspectors over non-conformances raised to ensure suitable feedback and closure.
9. Perform Technical Contract Reviews with a focus on material suitability in relation to the associated specifications/standards. Understanding testing criteria and limitations of materials. Assessment of the general technical and quality requirements of the purchase order. Ensure that the commercial department is aware of any technical deviation/cost implications that may not have been accredited for.
10. Producing bespoke material certification following internal manufacturing processes.
11. Be flexible in the approach to take on new tasks that arise not only within quality but also technical, certification, and engineering areas.
12. Represent the Technical and QA departments both onsite and at subcontractors. For example, kick-off meetings, site inspection, technical audits, and expediting visits.
Skills & Attributes
1. Ideally degree qualified in a relevant discipline (preferred).
2. Qualified internal auditor (9001/45001/14001) (preferred).
3. Experience working with quality/materials documentation within an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.
4. Understanding of quality standards used in the Oil and Gas/Nuclear sector - ASTM/ASME/API/NORSOK.
