HV Plant Engineer (Glasgow or Birmingham)
About the Role: Join our clients Transmission & Distribution team as an HV Plant Engineer. You'll lead and produce design engineering deliverables for substation projects, focusing on voltages from 11kV to 400kV. This role involves technical solution development, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical solutions for substation design projects.
Produce detailed substation design packages.
Conduct earthing studies and design substation earth systems.
Prepare calculations and technical specifications.
Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and other legal requirements.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Support client meetings and project proposals.
Promote a 'Safety by Design' approach.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years of substation engineering design experience.
Membership in a relevant professional engineering institution.
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and engineering design management.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Desirable:
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
Professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer.
