The Role Wessex Internet have a new exciting opportunity for an Engineering Project Manager to join our Technology team. The successful candidate will come with a background in project management, and extensive experience of delivering IP network projects. Preferably the experience will have been gained within an ISP environment. The post holder should have experience managing technical customer engineering teams and software developers. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the network engineering projects. Working with the CTO to enable growth and expansion of the network. Leading the team to improve our network, its capacity, and expansion to meet our growth targets and customer requirements. Responsibilities Create and update a master plan for network engineering projects. Proven track record of leading and delivering improved or sustained performance. Demonstrated ability to build credibility and relationships at all levels. Experience of delivering complex IP network projects to time and budget. Proven experience of managing a technical team and other senior staff, with the ability to develop and motivate Ability to contribute to resource planning, to manage financial budgets and utilising commercial acumen to make risk-based decisions that deliver effective outcomes within the resources allocated Setting operational network KPI’s and personnel targets with the CTO and ensuring those KPI’s and targets are met and surpassed where possible. Identify and act on opportunities for continual improvement and continual development Oversee the configuration and delivery of each project ensuing operational handover runs smoothly and meets expectations. Delivery in-line with target, conducting handover to network operations. Pro-active and Re-active management of 3rd party network providers Identify and feedback on issues/challenges which may hinder the team’s progress. Ensure teamwork is undertaken in a safe manner and that any opportunities for improvement to Health and Safety practices are agreed with the H&S Manager Provide monthly progress reports for each project Using Performance data from projects to determine the effectiveness of any capacity works conducted, with the CTO. Worth with the CTO to further develop and enhance current and future internal and externally facing products and services. Ensure team are up-to-date with all training as prescribed internally or required to conduct roles assigned. Manage and implement Infosec and BCDR procedures on a monthly/quarterly basis and document any works required to ensure compliance Lead the delivery of the Cabin and Cabinet Pipeline to ensure network expansion happens to time and budget. Requirements Previous experience as Project Manager/Engineering Manager or demonstrable technical team management experience Confidence to support positive working culture and uphold Wessex Internet Values Knowledge and experience of dealing with data and connectivity products & services. Accustomed to working in a multi-vendor environment. Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. A full UK driving license Exposure to ITIL or eTOM frameworks (Advantageous) Change Management experience.
