About The Job Salary: £45,718 - £48,710 a year plus £3,203 car benefit a year and £3,500 market supplement a year Hours per week: 37 Contract type: Permanent We’re searching for someone to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, bringing expertise in Mechanical Services Engineering design to help us deliver exceptional projects. This role involves conducting design and calculations for various building systems (ventilation, public health, heating, cooling) to comply with the building regulations and relevant design standards. You will also be involved in the management and inspections of the work on site. You’ll work closely with both internal teams and external partners, with hands-on involvement in contract administration, as well as managing contractor performance to ensure project standards are upheld. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll use your technical knowledge to produce schematics and drawings using CAD / 3D modelling software, monitor site conditions, and undertake site visits to verify quality and safety standards. You’ll also actively participate in meetings, both within and beyond the Borough, contributing to project planning and progress updates. This role provides an opportunity to apply your expertise in design, project management, planning supervision, compliance with CDM regulations, and asbestos regulations, while supporting us in delivering quality service and an inclusive environment. About You We’re looking for a candidate with a background in Mechanical Services Engineering and ideally a degree in Building Services Engineering or an equivalent qualification. You’ll have experience in contract administration and working as a project manager, along with solid familiarity with the legislative requirements and industry standards, such as CDM regulations. You’re capable of carrying out precise calculations and designing solutions that meet Building Control standards, as well as producing CAD drawings, schematics and schedules. Your skill set includes negotiating and influencing stakeholders to achieve project goals. You’re organised, adaptable, and efficient, with the ability to handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Building effective relationships comes naturally to you, and you’re as comfortable engaging with team members as you are managing contractor performance on-site.
