SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school.
Start: September 2024
A primary school is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a deep understanding of working with children who have mild to severe Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. This role involves supporting both diagnosed and undiagnosed children, ensuring their safety and helping them understand their education with as much ease as possible.
SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
* Comprehensive Student Support:
o Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to the specific needs of each child.
o Continuously assess and track each child's progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
* Attention to Detail:
o Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in a secure and supportive learning environment.
o Maintain thorough and accurate records of each child's progress, behaviors, and any incidents.
* Behavioral Management:
o Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage good behavior and academic effort.
o Employ various de-escalation techniques to manage and mitigate challenging behaviors.
* Effective Communication and Collaboration:
o Regularly communicate with SENCO, support workers, teachers, and parents to provide updates on each child's progress.
o Work collaboratively with the educational team to ensure an integrated approach to each child's education and development.
* Supportive Learning Environment:
o Promote an inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and understood.
o Provide emotional support to children, helping them develop coping skills and build resilience.
* Specialised Techniques and Interventions:
o Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and interventions tailored to the needs of children with Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
o Implement sensory-friendly strategies to help children with sensory processing issues feel comfortable and focused.
