About this opportunity
We are looking for people who are flexible for Day and Afternoon shift operations. Your role will be 12 hours roster usually (8 hours roster if required) operations at this Greenfields, state of the art rHDPE / PP recycling facility. You will be trained efficiently in areas such as Quality and WHSE and will be accountable for following work instructions in each area.
You will play a key role in delivering a Continuous Improvement mindset and initiatives to process up to 25,000 tonnes of baled post-consumer HDPE / PP per annum for conversion into food grade rHDPE resin.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
1. Comply with WHSE procedures and directions and follow reasonable instructions, always working towards Goal Zero.
2. Undertake duties safely and contribute to the safety of others through involvement in BOP’s, Risk Assessments, and Incident Reporting.
3. Provide relevant licences and permits to supervisor where required.
4. Contribute to product quality through inspection and testing where specified on Operators Instruction sheets.
5. Advise Supervisors or Technicians promptly of WHSE, Quality, Maintenance or People issues.
6. Work effectively to ensure quality products are produced in a timely manner and in a cost-effective way.
7. Housekeeping of workstations during shift, with a final clean up at the end of the shift.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
1. Experience working in or willingness to work in 24 / 5 and later 24 / 7 operations.
2. Experience working within extrusion, blow / injection moulding or thermoforming within a plastics manufacturing environment.
3. Mechanical aptitude.
4. Ability to adjust, calibrate, and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation.
5. Ability to learn new processes quickly and troubleshoot issues whilst maintaining quality standards.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely, effectively, and productively.
7. A positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
8. Superior communication skills; a team player, with the ability to communicate and connect across all levels at Site.
Valid Australia Work Right Entitlements are required.
Qualifications
1. Plastics or polymer technology and/or minimum 2 years of experience working in the plastics/extrusion industry will be desirable.
