The role – IT Network Support Technician The salary - £28,000 - £32,000 The location – Edinburgh I’m working with a growing local organisation as they look to add an IT Network Support Technician to their managed services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Managed Network infrastructure by troubleshooting and resolving faults that arise with the network by using strong knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies. This role is perfect for someone who has strong network support knowledge and wants to continue to grow their skills in a client facing environment. Your day-to-day: Provide support directly to customers via multiple remote means, including phone, email and remote desktop. Diagnosing and resolving faults that arise with the managed service network. Liaising directly with customers to diagnose the root cause of any problems, troubleshooting and resolving the issue where possible and knowing when to escalate. Updating tickets via the ticket support system, ensuring that customers are kept updated on the resolution status of their ticket. Supporting the management team as the organisation continues to grow and land new processes. About you: Experience in an IT service desk function, ideally within a managed service environment. Experience with networking including Juniper, Cisco and HP routing and switching. Firewall knowledge, ideally with Fortinet. Knowledge of routing protocols. Experience with VoIP and SIP. Experience troubleshooting issues with LAN/WAN. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to carry out root cause diagnosis with non-technical stakeholders.
