Equans is looking for an Energy Centre Technician to join our team in Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
As an Energy Centre Technician, you will undertake planned, preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installation work covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems, and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital. To work a day shift pattern but to be flexible as determined by the role.

What will you deliver?
1. Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the Portsmouth Hospital Trust for the service provide
2. Undertake any training as required
3. Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required
4. Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post
5. After suitable training and guidance, diagnose faults, repair and maintain complex equipment in accordance with PSSR) and other specialised heating plant
6. Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence thats outside core trade
7. To carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response
8. Work in unpleasant working conditions, steam ducts and confined spaces
9. To work safely on steam and hot water systems
10. Prepare plant for insurance inspections
11. Carry out routine boiler tests and maintenance tasks, after suitable training
12. To observe statutory and other relevant requirements, at all times, in particular those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and PSSR regulations

Who are we looking for?
24. A recognised CITB apprenticeship or approved equivalent
25. City & Guilds Craft Certificate relevant to the trade or similar recognised trade certificate
26. Level 3 NVQ or relevant experience
27. City & Guilds steam maintenance, BOAS (desirable)
28. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
29. Proactive approach to problem solving
30. Capable of working with no or minimum supervision
This role includes a standard DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
