A well-established Burgess Hill organisation is looking to recruit a full-time permanent HR Advisor.
Description
As HR Advisor, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing advice and case management across the organisation for disciplinary, grievance, and formal capability/performance, working in accordance with employment law, best practice, and people policies and procedures.
2. Escalating more complex ER cases as necessary to the ER Manager.
3. Supporting the upskilling of all people managers on disciplinary and grievance procedures and their roles and responsibilities within the process.
4. Providing clear ongoing guidance to managers on their role and responsibilities within a process.
5. Attending formal hearings if and where necessary, to provide advice as required and to support managers to finalise outcomes that are robust.
6. Conducting some of the more complex investigations and reporting the evidence and mitigation to enable relevant personnel to assess and determine a resolution within a defined timescale.
7. Preparing thorough, accurate, objective, and concise investigation reports in accordance with the approved format, ensuring that all supporting evidence is complete, and concluding with a recommendation as to whether a disciplinary case should follow.
8. Reporting on case volumes, case status and trends, and updating People Business Partners on cases within their regions that are more complex or high risk in nature.
Profile
Educated to degree/comparable NVQ level or equivalent.
Proven experience of working in an HR/ER Advisor role.
Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice and ability to practically implement.
Proven relevant experience carrying out employment investigations including grievance, disciplinary, and attendance management.
Ability to weigh up complex evidence and reach sound conclusions that are fair and reasonable while protecting the organisation.
Experience of advising on a wide range of HR matters including all ER issues from disciplinaries and grievances to attendance management.
Experience of managing and supporting an end-to-end investigation case within defined timescales.
Experience in dealing with restructures, redundancy, and TUPE situations.
