Job Description
We are offering a freelance position with Sing in the City with an annual minimum income of £2870. This is for taking one choir per week for 41 weeks of the year. Choir sessions last 2 hours with a small break in between.
A Sing in the City Choir Leader can coach during the daytime and evening in Edinburgh, Fife, and Lothians. We are open to starting new choirs in areas where we think there is demand and that a choir would be successful. Our sessions typically run from 10am-12pm (Daytime) and 7pm-9pm (Evening, Mon – Thurs) and we rehearse for 41 weeks of the year.
We generally work on a new song per month, and coaches are encouraged to work on choir tone, movement, and performance, which is all brought together in their yearly show in large venues such as Usher Hall, Festival Theatre, Adam Smith Theatre (Kirkcaldy), and Alhambra (Dunfermline).
We provide notation for our own arrangements of popular cover songs from the 60s to current. We also provide individual vocal track recordings for each section.
