Reporting into our Creative Lead, you’ll be able to develop your skills in a supportive environment where you’re encouraged to share your ideas. The firm is growing at pace, and we’re expanding the Marketing and Business Development team in response to this demand. Because of this, we have an exciting new position available for a mid-weight graphic designer. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, talented Design team where you’ll have the opportunity to help propel the Walker Morris brand forward through effective and impactful creative.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Produce impactful graphics and branded materials both print and digital including brochures, leaflets, adverts, events materials, social media content, website graphics, other internal assets etc.
* Manage print production on materials (desirable but not essential)
* Execute your work to a high standard.
* Work with the Creative Advisor to develop concepts and ideas.
* Assist with video filming (experience is desirable but not essential)
* Editing videos and create animations on Adobe After Effect and Premiere
* Utilise and manage our other design software packages including Foleon and MARQ alongside the Creative Lead (no experience needed)
* Taking briefs and create assets primarily from the Creative Lead and Marketing& Business Development team, including daily tasks such as social media static and animated. Support the Creative Lead on collection of assets for BAU activities such as imagery, email and website assets.
* Work within brand guidelines and be a gatekeeper for them, monitoring design work being created across the business.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the Bids team with capability statements and tender design, in Word, PowerPoint and InDesign.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the Events team with PowerPoint presentation design.
* Stay on top of creative trends and share ideas with the Creative Lead and Marketing team.
* Communicate openly and effectively, ensuring timely updates on work to the Creative Lead.
* Manage your own workload and priorities, responding to urgent work in good time.
* Maintain organised filing of all work, ensuring easy retrieval if required.
Essential skills and experience:
* Formal training or professional qualification in Graphic Design is preferred.
* A portfolio that demonstrates ability to create visually compelling and effective designs that are executed to a high standard.
* Experience of working in a design agency or in-house design role for 2+ years.
* Excellent knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
* Experience of video editing/ animation is essential, and you should have experience and knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office – experience of working within PowerPoint & Word to create impactful communications to clients.
* Be able to interpret a brief and understand how to bring to life key messages and concepts.
* Be able to demonstrate a high level of creativity and accuracy to drive and create a suite of design and graphic assets to reflect our brand.
* Ability to follow brand guidelines.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
* An excellent understanding of typography, layout and imagery.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all colleagues.
* A proactive attitude and with the ability to problem solve.
