Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Administrator to join our clinical trials team based across both Worthing and St Richards Hospitals for a secondment/fixed term opportunity. This exciting position will provide the ideal opportunity to develop clinical research experience and build on existing administrative and managerial skills. Professional development opportunities will be supported and encouraged, including leadership training. The post is 37.5 hours per week, weekdays only. Previous Applicants need not apply Main duties of the job We are ideally looking for someone with a broad and varied NHS hospital administration background who also has experience of line managing other team members. We need someone who can provide a high standard of administrative and secretarial support to the Research & Innovation Department ensuring a professional, efficient and confidential service at all times in order to ensure that the directorate runs as smoothly as possible. The post holder will work closely with our teams of clinical research nurses, midwives, research governance facilitators and administrators working across a diverse portfolio of clinical trials. They will also need to work autonomously and will be responsible for implementing administrative processes including management of Trust meetings, and minute taking. Responsible for ensuring progress on meeting actions are tracked to be delivered within agreed timescales, dealing with matters often as directed by the Research & Innovation Senior Management Team. The post holder will also be responsible for promoting research within Trust departments, and supporting colleagues and local investigators to deliver high quality research activity to support patient care. The role requires flexibility and the ability to work as a team member and under own direction. The post holder will be required to work across both Worthing and St Richards Hospitals with occasional travel to other sites if needed.
