Due to an upcoming retirement, LCTS are looking to recruit a driver for 25 hours per week, with occasional overtime available.
You’ll be one of the team of drivers at Lothian Community Transport Services (LCTS), a charitable organisation that transports our passengers safely and comfortably, providing an outstanding service. You will be required to work from our sites based in Dalkeith and Portobello.

DRIVING
1. Drive any vehicle operated under the terms of the LCTS Vehicle Hire Service.
2. Drive vehicles operated on the LCTS Community Bus network.
3. Drive as otherwise required by LCTS.
Ensure passengers are carried in a safe and comfortable manner and provide assistance to passengers where required, including:
1. Undertake daily walk-round vehicle and vehicle equipment checks and record the outcome on the designated form.
2. Maintain a good knowledge of the Highway Code and other legal responsibilities.
3. Promote the safe and fuel-efficient use of vehicles so as to benefit passengers, drivers, and other road users.
4. Occasional evening and weekend working will be required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* A full D1 licence is required.
* Current CPC is desirable, but we can offer this, if required, to the right candidate.
* This is a Safeguarding position; you will be working with vulnerable adults and children, and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check will be required.
* You will need to be safety-focused as caring for the service users is paramount. You will need to be friendly and helpful as you will be working with others in the team to deliver this service, and it is important that everyone you deal with feels comfortable and reassured.
