Design technology teacher required for SEN provision, full time and long term.
Zen Educate are seeking a design technology teacher to take on full time contract work starting as soon as possible at an alternative SEN provision teaching post 16 students. All students will be low ability learners, but the provision is looking for a teacher that can confidently ensure that all students are able to access the learning and get the most out of the subject.
The ideal teacher will have experience in working with students diagnosed with SEMH and be familiar with how to engage and tackle students and their behaviors associated with such a diagnosis. The school offers a truly bespoke program for students including a lot of outdoor learning, along with small class sizes and more adult support available. The work will be at their Avonmouth site.
Requirements:
1. UK QTS with a specialism in design technology.
2. Experience in teaching students with SEMH and secondary ages.
3. Good classroom management, and able to keep students engaged in interactive and physical learning.
4. Able to communicate well with other members of staff, as well as parents.
5. Ensure that students have a good level of attainment for their learning level and finish their course with confidence, ready to move into either FE or the world of work.
This is a unique setting that offers the chance to make measurable and lasting change on students and their self-esteem and self-worth. If you see value in students that perhaps others have written off and are bored of mainstream education, please get in touch to talk more. To work, you will need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service.
