Job Title: Autism Practitioner (Primary School)
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Autism Practitioner to support children with autism spectrum conditions in a primary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each child receives tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized strategies to support students with autism.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans and create inclusive learning environments.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support for students to build communication, social, and self-regulation skills.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting interventions as needed.
- Work with parents/carers to share strategies and maintain consistent support.
- Promote understanding of autism across the school community.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children with autism or other additional needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of autism and strategies for support.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and organizational skills.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields (desirable).
