Business Support Officer Salary: £12.59 PAYE / £15.41 Umbrella Location: S75 Darton, Barnsley Job Type: Temporary, Hybrid Working Hours: 08:45 - 17:00 We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our Children’s Services team. This role is crucial in supporting the Local Authority Designated Officers and the Independent Reviewing Officers. The ideal candidate will provide efficient and confidential business support to front line and statutory services. Day-to-day of the role: Provide an efficient and confidential business support service to front line and statutory services. Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries, offering advice, guidance, signposting, and support to internal and external customers in line with legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. Respond to various correspondence and manage incoming and outgoing information. Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and information flow. Support statutory meetings, including recording decisions accurately and directly onto electronic forms and templates using mobile IT devices. Organise and coordinate meetings, diaries, and appointments, ensuring schedules and venues are appropriate for attendees. Undertake project work and research, ensuring information is high-quality and completed according to deadlines. Analyse and evaluate data/information and produce reports suitable for a range of audiences including senior managers and members of the public. Perform administrative duties while managing interruptions, queries, and conflicting demands arising from customer queries and requests. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a business support environment. Proven experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information. Skilled in research and providing written and verbal reports. Experience working with financial information and resolving issues related to payments and billing. Proficient in servicing meetings and minute-taking directly onto mobile devices with speed and accuracy. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to interrogate problems and follow through to logical conclusions. Competent in word processing information directly onto mobile devices with speed and accuracy.
