The Role & Key Responsibilities
Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Electrical / Mechanical
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK
Shift: 40Hrs per week - Monday to Friday operating a 3-shift pattern. 2 weeks of 8am - 4pm followed by 1 week 6am – 2pm, and 1pm-9pm. On-call rota for 1 in 4 covering out of hours including weekends.

What You will be working on:
* Drag Chain Conveyors
* Screw conveyors
* Belt and bucket Elevators
* Mixing Equipment
* Weighing Equipment
* Boilers and steam plant
* Electrical Control Panels with Inverters and PLCs
* Compressed air and pneumatic equipment
* Hydraulic equipment
Responsibilities include:
* Overall maintenance of the site including both reactive and planned maintenance tasks, fault finding, and small improvement projects, minimising plant downtime.
* Supporting the Engineering Manager to ensure health and safety, feed safety and Quality standards are never compromised.
* Ensure all work is risk assessed and carried out on safely isolated equipment.
* PPM tasks in accordance with the agreed schedule. In line with our CMMS - Agility.
* Be proactive in cooperation with the Operators to agree equipment downtime and availability for maintenance tasks.
* Assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring that adequate spare parts are held in stock by keeping the stores area organised and reporting parts used and ordering from suppliers.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by highlighting/identifying cost saving initiatives or process improvements.
* Assist with Control of Contractors, Permits to Work etc.
To be successful we are looking for the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
* Apprenticeship trained, HNC (or equivalent) or time served Engineer – ideally multi-skilled Engineer.
* Experience of working with maintenance systems.
* City & Guilds Electrical qualification desired.
* Good H&S knowledge in legislation and application (IOSH qualification, desirable) with a safety-first focus.
* Desirable if experience but training can be provided:
o Confined Space
o Welding/Fabrication Qualifications
o 18th Edition
o PASAM, FLT, BOAS

Location
Our sites are rural with minimal public transport therefore ability to access site without the need for public transport will be required.
