ABOUT THE ROLE:
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Managing finance and resources including liaising and working with accountants and auditors; budget profiling, planning and oversight; and processing of invoices and Commissioner fees, travel and subsistence.
* Managing the Commissioners programmes, assisting in organising stakeholder engagement, arranging meetings, and acting as a liaison for stakeholders.
* Ensuring that travel and accommodation (including meeting venues) are arranged in good time and represent value for money.
* Managing the Commissions information and arrangements for records management.
* Managing the Commissions mailbox, prioritising urgent messages and ensuring deadlines are met.
* Leading arrangements for publication of the Commissions reports, including viewing and booking venues, liaison with stakeholders, and working closely with the IRCs media adviser.
* General secretariat support duties, including contract management tracking team activities and actions from meetings, providing general office administration and support.
* Management and day-to-day running of the UK Joint Secretarys diary and programme.
* Other ad hoc tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
* Some experience of managing a budget and records management, and a strong willingness to develop further skills in finance and records management.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Basic proficiency in IT applications (such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word) and a willingness to become proficient in additional software and systems as needed.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
* An understanding of the NI political landscape and devolution settlement.
