Our client is a leading Construction & Engineering Support Services company that delivers quality solutions across a range of industries, including Civils, Rail, and Infrastructure. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced QHSE Manager to lead the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) functions, driving forward the ongoing development of HSE management systems and processes.
Role Overview:
As the QHSE Manager, you will be given full autonomy to develop and shape the company's HSE systems and processes. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for embedding a proactive safety culture across all operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and continuous improvement. This is a leadership role where you will be out on-site regularly, as well as engaging in office-based duties, developing policies, and providing mentorship. You will be expected to work away from home throughout the UK and travel extensively to various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead & take an active role in the ongoing development and rollout of the HSE Management systems & processes throughout the business, including creation and reviewing of risk documentation.
2. Site Auditing and Inspections.
3. Develop & deliver HSE internal training, coaching, and mentoring to all members of staff within the business.
4. Champion the ongoing maintenance of the environmental, health and safety management systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO.
5. Develop and roll out safe systems of work.
6. Develop appropriate H&S and Environmental mitigation controls, policies, procedures & guidance to deliver the HSE management requirements throughout the business.
7. Monitor and report on HSE performance and progress against objectives to the senior management team.
8. Manage and develop appropriate employee training programmes.
9. Lead by example and coordinate with operational management in achieving statutory compliance in the workplace.
10. Provide support & guidance to the senior management team and all management staff to enable them to undertake their roles and responsibilities for Health, Safety & the Environment in service delivery.
11. Carry out new staff members H&S inductions.
Essential Requirements:
1. A proven track record in QHSE management, ideally within the Construction, Civils, Rail, M&E, or Infrastructure sectors.
2. Strong knowledge of ISO requirements.
3. Experience in developing HSE systems and processes and conducting audits.
4. Ability to work autonomously and drive a culture of health and safety across the business.
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, mentor, and coach staff at all levels.
6. A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
7. Willingness to work away from home throughout the UK and travel extensively to various sites.
8. Willingness to undergo medical, D&A, and background checks.
