We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager with fluent French and English to join Norgine.
The person holding this position will report to the Head of Operational Accounting and be a member of the Finance team.
The core responsibility of the Accounting Manager is to ensure that Norgine Group Reporting requirements are met and any issues identified are resolved in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Review output of all month end close activities (trial balance and balance sheet reconciliation reviews) and approve the output as required, ensuring any issues are raised and resolved with GBS in a timely fashion.
* Providing guidance to the GBS outsourced function team members assigned to entity under remit of Accounting Manager and reviewing outputs.
* Close month end within the deadline, communicating any issues with the numbers to the key stakeholders on a timely basis.
* Reviewing balance sheet movements for each entity and providing summary analysis to be used for balance sheet and working capital commentaries by the Group Reporting Team.
* Review output of all year end close activities and approve the output where required and submit to auditor ensuring any issues are addressed on a timely basis.
* Close year end within deadline communicating any issues with the numbers to the key stakeholders on a timely basis.
* Accountability for filing of the accounts within statutory deadline and to a high standard and ensuring appropriate course correction is taken if audit timings become at risk.
* Support consolidation activities as required.
* Support the Tax team with CIT, VAT, WHT and other tax processes as required.
* Accountability for delivering the year end local statutory external audit being the key contact person for the auditors.
* Providing support as required to the year end Group audit.
* Management of property, car and equipment leases for applicable entities in IFRS 16 module of the ERP system.
* Review of national statistics returns following first draft preparation from the GBS outsourced provider as applicable.
* Backup and support to other Accounting Managers as required and the Head of Operational Accounting as needed.
* Support projects and process improvements as required, adopting a continual process improvements mindset.
* Timely review and approval of bank payments and supplier master data as required.
Requirements
* Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
* Finance background: solid relevant experience in a multinational environment.
* Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in French GAAP and IFRS (Dutch GAAP an advantage).
* Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
* Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numerical skills.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Results driven with the ability to balance other business considerations.
* Motivated self-starter with the ability to function independently and multi-task.
* Strong team working, showing ability to collaborate well and positively influence others.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, JDE accounting software experience is a plus.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French, other European languages are an advantage but not essential.
* Proactive with a focused and structured approach to work, although willing to change direction if required.
* Prioritises and manages time to achieve tasks.
* Resilient and not easily blown off course, even when under pressure.
* Must be confident dealing with external auditors, coordinating the audit process to ensure high-quality responses are delivered and audit requests returned within required timelines.
