Job Description Manufacturing Engineer Purchase Full time Derby What you will be doing: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer Purchase to join our Tooling Supplier Management team in Derby. As a Manufacturing Engineer Purchase, you will be responsible for managing our Tooling supply chain in terms of ensuring they are fully approved and capable of delivering tools correct to drawing whilst responding to any queries they may have. You will utilise high performance and continuous improvement activities, combining integrated Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS) and Zero-Defect requirements. You’ll be part of a small integrated supplier management team who support each of the operational areas to ensure they have the correct tools on time with full compliance to all aspects of the technical requirements. Acting as our ‘quality’ conscious you’ll be fully empowered to instruct suppliers how to ensure they meet our exacting standards. Responsibilities: You will maintain approval status across our supply chain for both design and manufacture activities where appropriate. This will involve liaising mainly with UK suppliers but with potential for limited overseas travel. Manage incoming supplier technical queries, sentencing of deviations and responding to any tooling non-conformance within the operational areas. Work with suppliers to ensure all technical aspects of manufacturing processes are setup robustly. Introduce performance improvements where opportunities for waste removal or process changes can help to reduce overall technical load into the team. Why Rolls-Royce? Knowledge of foundational ME toolsets and RRPS principles.
