Post: Senior ICT Technician – 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Reporting to: Facilities and Network Manager
The Senior ICT Technician, under guidance from the Facilities and Network Manager, will be responsible for general maintenance of the IT equipment and for resolving identified technical problems. The technician will also undertake general tasks that will promote the use of ICT across the curriculum.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Windows Server Management, Support and Maintenance
* Server management (Microsoft virtual servers, failover cluster)
* Active directory management
* Computer management (PCs and laptops), including making sure that all Windows Desktops and Laptops are in a good working order
* Microsoft SCCM image deployment and management
* Internet access and security (Internet filtering, monitoring, safeguarding, anti-virus)
1. Wired and wireless Infrastructure management/maintenance
* Wireless network devices and Apps
2. Manage and maintain Office 365 for Education Tenancy
3. MDM management for iPads
4. Maintain and Troubleshoot School Telephone System
5. Support and Maintain Digital Signage System and ID card system (xibo, Inventry, Net2)
6. Printer Management Cross School
Responsibilities:
1. To ensure high quality technical support as part of educational provision and support for young people with MLD/Complex needs
2. To improve outcomes for children and young people, who are unable to attend mainstream school, so that they can: be healthy; stay safe; enjoy and achieve; make a positive contribution; and achieve economic well-being.
3. To fully and actively support the Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda and participate, as required, in the integrated processes, including the Common Assessment Framework, Lead professional role and Information sharing and assessment protocols.
4. To work with colleagues to achieve School Development Plan (SDP) objectives and targets
5. To participate in Employee Development schemes and Performance Management and contribute to the identification of own team development needs.
6. To support the development of the school ethos and identity
7. Provide clerical and administrative support, e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, as required
8. Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
9. Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others
10. To maintain awareness of and commitment to the school’s Equal Opportunity Policies in relation to both employment and service delivery
