Main duties of the job To act as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist within the Community Neurological Service (CNS), supporting the team to evolve and embed best practice in this new service. To independently manage a highly specialist and complex clinical caseload. To provide Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment to adults in Gloucestershire with acquired neurological or speech disorders resulting from neurological impairment including stroke, which result in communication and/or swallowing difficulties.To be an integral member of the CNS multidisciplinary team in Gloucestershire, acting as a resource to other medical, nursing, therapy and social services staff and voluntary agencies and as an interface link for speech and language therapy with acute colleagues.To ensure that evidence based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment, in this clinical area and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the Trust.
