Job summary An excellent opportunity has arisen in North Devon for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and experienced adult mental health inpatient team. We are looking for a motivated, passionate occupational therapist who strives to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of working aged adults with a Mental Health condition. The role is based on the 16 bedded adult urgent care ward. You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment, with a focus on providing the very best patient care in a locality combining sea, moor, history and opportunity. Main duties of the job We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate experience within the OT role, who has the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, have sound decision making skills and effective clinical reasoning. The successful candidate will work creatively to develop the role and work with senior members of the team on driving service development. The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate excellent assessment and interpersonal skills, supporting patients and their families through shared decision making, to make informed choices about their treatment and conditions. The successful applicant will provide supervision for junior members of the team. Our focus will also be on your individual development. You will have regular clinical supervision, and we use a positive appraisal process to help plan your development and work with you to achieve your professional goals.
