Vacancy Description
You will complete four to six-month placements working in a broad range of diverse business areas. These could include London Underground, Surface Transport and buses, Crossrail, and pedestrian and river boat services.
1. Placement 1: Deep Tube Upgrade Programme – Developing expertise in estimating costs for each element of the project to ensure that the project stays within budget.
2. Placement 2: Four Lines Modernisation – Monitoring and systematically analysing progress and performance data on the projects, to ensure that the project stays on track.
3. Placement 3: Project & Programme Directorate – Creating insightful reports to allow the Project Manager to make informed decisions, and assisting with change requests on projects.
4. Placement 4: Major Stations – Working with the Planner to create a robust and accurate schedule to ensure that the project runs to plan.
5. Placement 5: Asset Performance Directorate – Supporting the management of risk to the projects, to ensure that risks and opportunities are identified.

Training
You will be working towards the ECITB Diploma in Project Controls. You’ll also have opportunities to complete additional training courses. Typically, you will have one study day a week, with college sessions approximately once a month for the first 15-18 months.
Throughout the scheme, we’ll support your technical development through a wide range of on-the-job practical experiences and placements. We’ll also support your professional development through classroom-led training courses, online training courses, mentoring opportunities, and structured networking opportunities.
Support Structure
You'll receive one-to-one guidance throughout the programme from your:
* Placement Manager: Responsible for your day-to-day management and support with your development.
* Scheme Sponsor: A senior manager who acts as a technical and professional adviser.
* Buddy: Usually an apprentice or graduate who provides support and ensures you feel welcomed in the organisation.
* Development Adviser: Supports your professional development through career coaching and progression at TfL.
