You are an experienced engineering professional with a proven track record in maintaining facility operations and providing engineering support services in an operational FMCG environment. You possess strong people skills, capable of building effective relationships, and have a developed level of interactive skills to influence, advise, and educate. You are committed to conducting work in accordance with good hygienic, Quality, and EHS practices, ensuring compliance with corporate, legal, hygiene, and EHS requirements.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will manage the day-to-day operational function of the engineering team, providing engineering support to the Blends facility, site utilities, and CHP at the Coleford site. You will operate within agreed budgets under the direction of the Site Services Engineering Manager. Your tasks will include considering all Environmental, Security, Quality, and Health & Safety aspects for the engineering team and contractors. You will deliver the site preventative maintenance schedule, resolve immediate problems, and escalate issues to the Site Services Engineering Manager as needed. Ensuring the daily operation of the site utilities and resolving issues to minimize operational downtime will be key responsibilities. You will also operate to meet the KPIs set by the Site Services Engineering Manager.

An engineering degree or equivalent experience in maintaining facility operations or engineering support services in an FMCG environment, along with a proven engineering track record and strong people skills, are crucial. You must also be capable of building effective relationships, influencing, advising, and educating others, and ensuring compliance with good hygienic, Quality, and EHS practices.
Technical Skills Required
* Coordinate the daily workload of the engineering team, ensuring robust prioritization and stakeholder communication.
* Operate within and comply with all GSK Environmental, Quality, and Health & Safety requirements.
* Issue permits to allow work to proceed and ensure work is completed to an agreed standard.
* Control the shift rota to account for sickness, holiday, and training, ensuring adequate support provision to the site.
* Ensure the supply of key utilities to internal customers on the Coleford site.
* Facilitate and manage contractors on site, ensuring compliance with all LRS Environmental, Security, Quality, and Health & Safety requirements.
* Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including issues requiring changes in preventative maintenance frequency, stock provision of appropriate spares, and system performance.
* Assist the Site Services Engineering Manager with the provision of learning and development opportunities for the engineering team.
* Provide first-line performance monitoring and management of the engineering team, elevating any issues or celebrations to the Site Services Engineering Manager.
* Support the Site Services Engineering Manager with the implementation and delivery of engineering protocols, relevant data on utility and plant performance, and ensuring effective 24/7 engineering support to Blends, utilities, and facilities.
