About the team
Our investment team have considerable experience in raising finance to support the acquisition of new rolling stock. They are supported by a team of engineering and project management professionals that have a track record of delivering projects on time and to budget.
Key Responsibilities
Role Purpose
Support the Investment Team with customer interface, planning and account management for passenger relationships and investment opportunities. Support the Pricing and Bid team and Commercial Strategy team when required.
Responsibilities
1. Support Senior Relationship Managers with developing and managing key account plans (operator level) and operating group account plans where appropriate.
2. Lead customer lease review meetings.
3. Attend customer meetings with regards to new build opportunities where appropriate and assist with developing 'capture plans' for upcoming new build opportunities (Northern, TPE, ScotRail, LSER etc).
4. Represent the Investment Team for internal matters pertaining to procurement of HM, modification works and special projects for the client base.
5. Provide support and customer intelligence/information to the Pricing team to develop customer offers.
6. Provide support to the Commercial Strategy team to develop initiatives and opportunities relating to the PB fleet portfolio (DMU strategy until life-end, decarbonisation, Digital etc).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
General Requirements
General requirements are for an individual with extensive relevant customer interface and account management/commercial experience, within the railway industry. Managing and developing customer account plans preferred, with insight and experience with pricing/bid management.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisation experience, with great attention to detail, the ability to create and maintain relationships with customers and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
1. A Levels, an appropriate degree, or HND/HNC in business or relevant qualification.
Knowledge
1. A working knowledge and understanding of the rail industry preferable.
2. Understanding of Porterbrook and the business community that we operate.
3. Porterbrook's customer business and the franchise business area.
4. Porterbrook's traction and rolling stock assets.
5. Relationship planning and maintaining customer interfaces (incl key account plans).
6. Developing and updating new business opportunities (capture plans).
7. Developing and updating slide-decks appropriate for presentation internally and externally.
Key Skills
1. Numeracy, analytical and literacy.
2. Effective communicator and listener.
3. Customer focused.
4. Report writing and presentation skills (including slide-decks).
5. Financial and budgeting awareness.
6. Computer literacy.
7. Rail engineering / Fleet support (not essential).
