A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Building Surveyor to join a growing team in Manchester. The role will involve working primarily in Manchester and surrounding areas, supporting a variety of projects with a particular focus on insurance-related work and commercial buildings of all types of construction. This is a busy and varied position, ideal for a motivated individual with strong technical knowledge and excellent client service skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate ambition, professionalism, and strong interpersonal abilities. Key Responsibilities Inspect and provide expert advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites. Undertake acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations. Prepare detailed reports, schedules of works, and technical specifications. Design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and ensure adherence to current technical standards. Independently manage large-value projects across a range of professional consultancy services. Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, Party Wall legislation, Building Regulations, and planning requirements. Support and mentor APC candidates to promote knowledge and progression. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including all Health & Safety requirements. About You Essential Skills & Experience: MRICS qualified (essential). Significant experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architectural and planning practices. Strong knowledge of defect diagnosis and technical report writing. Experience with insurance repair projects is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead negotiations, supervise teams, and manage projects. Demonstrated success in managing projects within deadlines and budgets. Knowledge and application of CDM 2015 regulations, Party Wall Act, and Building Regulations. Sound IT, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexible and adaptable approach to varied project work.
