Job Description:
North Star Rehab is seeking highly motivated, self-employed Specialist Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic team of Associates. As a leading provider of community-based neurological rehabilitation services, we offer a rewarding opportunity to use your specialist knowledge, skills and experience with individuals aged 14+ who are undertaking a personal injury journey, and have various catastrophic neurological conditions including acquired and traumatic brain injury.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering comprehensive occupational therapy and developing personalised rehabilitation. Your expertise will be instrumental in addressing your clients' physical, cognitive, behavioural, and vocational needs, enabling them to achieve their optimal level of independence and quality of life.
At North Star Rehab, we are guided by our four principles:
* We are warm hearted
* We are practical
* We are by your side
As an Associate you will have access to a network of specialist Occupational Therapists, delivering a high-quality service to support their work. Overall, the Associate will be responsible for clients from assessment through treatment planning and review.
Clients will be offered to you based on your level of experience, skills and knowledge.
To achieve this, as an Associate you will:
* Be autonomous: Have the freedom of being an independent practitioner alongside collaborating with the client’s multi-professional team to achieve shared goals.
* Manage a caseload: Be your own boss, managing a caseload of clients with complex neurological conditions and multiple pathologies.
* Produce comprehensive assessments: Conduct in-depth assessments utilising your specialised clinical reasoning skills, using a range of contemporary outcome measures.
* Promote goal setting: Help your clients by working to set clear SMART goals, and implement the therapy intervention best to help address physical, functional and cognitive needs.
* Putting our clients first: Prioritise clients and caregivers’ involvement in decisions influencing their rehabilitation.
* Be responsive to learning: Participate in development opportunities including training and conferences to maintain a deep understanding of rehabilitation and incorporate into your treatment plans.
As an Associate with North Star Rehab, you will:
* Deliver outstanding practice: Demonstrate confidence and competence in neurological occupational therapy practices, including the use of contemporary outcome measures which monitor the impact of treatment.
* Be an empathetic communicator: Demonstrate advanced communication skills to effectively motivate and interact with clients, families, caregivers and the multi-disciplinary teams. You should adapt your communication styles to accommodate clients with difficulties such as communication challenges, cognitive impairments, behavioural problems, and pain.
* Demonstrate you can maintain documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports for clients and third parties as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical notes in accordance with HCPC guidelines. Using our electronic management systems, you will be able to record accurate treatment and correspondence notes.
* Be a team player: Work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team, coordinating client care and making informed referrals to other services.
* Apply all professional standards: Adhere to North Star Rehab, HCPC, and RCOT guidelines, and possess a strong understanding of national and local standards of practice, including legal and operational requirements.
