Job Description Location: This post will cover the geographical area of Kincardine and Mearns An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Care at Home teams. Home Care within Aberdeenshire Council provide specialist care and support to service users across four priority areas, to allow service users to build upon their skills and abilities to live independently, while promoting their rights, autonomy and choices. The new role of Care Team Support Officer will act as a positive role model for care staff, supporting and mentoring home carers on the frontline to maintain high quality of service as well as looking for opportunities to continually improve. As this is a new role, there will be opportunity for the postholders to shape and develop the role. It’s a hands-on role and the ideal candidate will be passionate about bringing out the best in their colleagues and enabling service users to live as independently as possible. A full current valid driving licence and access to own car is essential and travelling across Aberdeenshire will form part of the daily role. As an employer Aberdeenshire Council will provide and fund training including attainment of modules within SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care. Full information can be found on the attached job profile. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment. This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer. Requirements This post requires the individual to work a shift pattern consisting of early shifts and late shifts. Working one weekend on and one weekend off.
