Position: Mother and Baby Support Worker

Role Overview:
As a Mother and Baby Support Worker, you will provide essential support to mothers and their babies, helping to ensure a positive start to their journey together.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support new mothers with emotional well-being, and mental health.
· Work closely with healthcare professionals, midwives, and social services to ensure coordinated care.
· Identify and address any concerns or challenges facing the mother or baby, providing resources and referrals when necessary.
· Assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment for both mother and baby.
· Keep detailed records of interactions, support provided, and progress made by the families.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Must have an enhanced child and Adult DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero
· Must be able to provide references to cover your current and most previous employers.
· Experience working with new mothers, babies, or within a family support setting.
· In-depth knowledge of postnatal care, infant development, and maternal mental health.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with mothers and families.
· Compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive approach, particularly in dealing with vulnerable families.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
