Estimator, Landscaping Play Areas (or Specialist Construction) Salary £45,000 to £60,000 DoE Swanley Permanent Our client is a successful Landscaping company who operate in a broad range of commercial, grounds maintenance and specialist sectors. Their “Play” division has been designing and installing bespoke school playground equipment and recreational areas for 40 years and is has enjoying considerable success. It is now the focus of new investment and development to drive this success to new heights, meaning that they are looking for a dedicated Play Estimator. They would ideally like to recruit an Estimator with Play and Landscaping experience, but are open to developing and training an Estimator from another area of Specialist Construction and experience in a similar discipline. The Job: Reporting to the Head of Play, you will use your professional and proactive approach to create and submit Commercial Tenders for Play Areas, MUGAs & Ballcourts, Shelters and Canopies, SEN & Inclusive Play together with Seating and general associated Landscaping. You will have ownership of your projects and manage the award of schemes to the point that they are handed over to one the operational teams. Using Bluebeam Revu you will accurately measure PDF drawings to determine the scope of works and, if necessary, produce a Bill of Quantities, consistent with the specifications for pricing purposes. Distribute “sub-contract bid packages” as required and obtain prices for all of elements of the tender. Assist Clients with technical feedback at all stages of the tender and award process. Assign or propose Profit Margins based on department guidelines. Price bills of quantities ready for submittal and enter all supplementary bid information. Identify areas of risk or concern within the scheme and present them to the Head of Play. Attend Pre and Post Contract meetings with clients as required. Maintain the tender register. Contact clients for updates on bid submissions. Build and maintain strong, professional working relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors. The Person: You will currently be working in an Estimating role, preferably in the creation of Play Areas or Landscaping but possibly in a specialist area of Construction and you will: Ideally have CAD and/or Bluebeam experience but training can be given. Have experience in preparing and submitting specialist Commercial Construction tenders. Have an understanding of Contracts and Project risk management. Have good general IT skills including MS Office. Be organised with good time management and used to meeting tender deadlines. Good communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Full driving licence
