Turning data and management information into business-critical insights is a complex process. As Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll be the go-to professional in this space. With a role that focus' working with our Place services, (including Economy, Climate and Transport) you'll take a deep dive into the data, working in partnership with stakeholders, analysts, and developers, to build a compelling picture that commands the attention of senior leaders. The subject matter with be predominantly relate to the Economy - businesses, skills, jobs and sector growth, Infrastructure - housing, schools, roads, broadband and planning and Property - Essex County Council estate.
You'll use a range of analytical techniques, on qualitative and quantitative sources, to provide high-quality findings to the council's senior leaders. You'll work with colleagues to make clear recommendations on action that will directly improve the lives of local people.
This will mean understanding our organisation, processes, data and priorities, and using that knowledge to creatively present conclusions that enable key decision makers to understand current and future needs, demands and trends. You will work with our services to embed an evidence and data driven ethos that supports sustainable services and best practice.
We're looking for professionals who can really make an impact. You'll need experience and knowledge of a range of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools, plus a proven track record of producing recommendations that inspire improvements. Experience of working in a Business Intelligence function, including the design and delivery and presentation of management information using software such as Excel and Power BI is needed, while the ability to communicate complex messages simply is a must.
