Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Planner within the Planning team. This role will be based on site in Coleshill. The sublot is situated between Birmingham and Coventry covering a 6km stretch, running north from the River Blythe to Coleshill, crossing three major highways - the A45, M42 and M6. The assets in this sublot will take 45-50 million hours to construct. Initial work includes the construction of a service road and improvements to the A45. This section will extend to the M42 twin boxes including the construction of three earthworks assets – two embankments and one cutting.
Role Description:
1. Assist in Management of planning function of a Sub Lot.
2. Assist in the production and maintenance of working programme.
3. Assist in the maintenance of the Clause 32 monthly programme.
4. Review and assist in the production of detailed Sub Lot programmes (in Synchro).
5. Ensure sub-contractors issue their Clause 31 and Clause 32 programmes.
6. Monitor progress against plan and review with Sub Lot leads.
Experience Required:
1. Substantial site experience of which some must be in relevant disciplines and some as a senior discipline planner.
2. Computer literacy: - Primavera (all versions) - Microsoft Project - Word/Excel - TiLOS - Synchro.
3. Report writing skills.
4. Experience of planning & project control services within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry.
5. Good understanding of various methods of project controls, planning and performance reporting.

We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. * 62 overbridges
* 35 cuttings
* 56 culverts
* 62 embankments
* 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
* 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses
